Venture Café Monterrey breaks attendance record

Last Thursday, May 25, Venture Café Monterrey celebrated its first anniversary, with the theme “Por más unicornios regios”🦄 it was a full house, with the participation of more than 400 attendees. Here is a summary of the successes obtained in this first year:

  • 24 Thursday Gathering
  • 5,300 total attendees
  • 220 people on average per event
  • More than 15 thousand valuable connections
  • Collaboration with more than 20 organizations and ecosystem actors to co-create sessions.

During the event, we had the participation of David Garza, President of Tecnológico de Monterrey, and Tim Rowe, founder of Venture Café and CEO of Cambridge Innovation Center (CIC), who dedicated a few words of congratulations for this year and the many successes obtained. In addition, Mario Adrián Flores, Vice President of the Tec’s Northern Region, shared the project for the Monterrey Innovation District and the progress of the construction of the Expedition building, the future home of Venture Café.

Likewise, we held the interactive panel “How to become a unicorn and not die trying it?”, where Cristina Noyola, Head of Marketing and Design at Nowsports, and Myriam Cosío Robles Chief External Affairs Officer at Clip, both first employees in their respective companies, advised entrepreneurs to align their startups with a clear mission, as well as practice conscious leadership that helps everyone in the business grow.

The attendees also enjoyed activations such as a movie theater to watch testimonial videos, a video wall with photos of the speakers who participated during the year, holograms with the success indicators achieved, and a room with wooden blocks where they left written their contributions to the ecosystem.

Finally, there was a networking in the dark where everyone shone and connected depending on the colors of the bracelets that represented their role in the ecosystem.

It was an unforgettable Thursday Gathering, an exciting year, and above all, full of connections and shared learning with the Monterrey innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Next Thursday June 8th we will close the 2-day event of the Monterrey Innovation District, The Next Decade: Water Distruption. If you want to participate in the entire event, click on the following button.
